A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with ELK expertise for a 6-month contract role in Scotland. Qualifications

Overview

Summary: We're looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with specialist ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) expertise to join Social Security Scotland on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for Cloud Engineers with a strong public sector track record who want to make a real impact on secure, large-scale services.

Position: Cloud Engineer | Type: Contract (Inside IR35) | Duration: 6 Months | Location: Edinburgh/Glasgow | Hybrid: 2 Days On-Site

Responsibilities

• Play a key part in enhancing the organisation's Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting (LMA) capability, working on the design, maintenance, and optimisation of Elastic stacks and clusters.
• Hands-on experience with data ingestion pipelines, performance tuning, and building effective visualisations from large data sets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as an ELK SME (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana)
• Proven experience designing, managing, and tuning large Elastic clusters
• Strong skills in data ingestion pipelines and indexing best practices
• Knowledge of visualisation techniques in Elasticsearch
• Background in software development, infrastructure engineering, and operations

Location

Edinburgh/Glasgow (on-site 2 days per week on average, flexibility required)
