A leading healthcare institution in London is seeking a Clinical Fellow to develop clinical skills in ambulatory gynaecology and coordinate care for oncology patients. Responsibilities include outpatient clinics, managing patient care, and providing emergency cover in a robust clinical environment. Applications are invited for the Clinical Fellow post with an interest in the diagnostic pathway of two week referrals, cancer unit surgery. The post will include on call sessions in the Acute Gynaecology Unit of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust, London.
The candidate will develop their clinical skills in ambulatory gynaecology by participating in regular clinics in TWR scan and outpatient hysteroscopy. They will also be responsible for the co‑ordination of care of gynaecological oncology patients and those suspected of having a gynaecological cancer. This involves but is not restricted to:
The clinical fellow will provide emergency gynaecology cover on a 1:7 on call rota. This involves caring for all emergency gynaecology admissions under the acute gynaecology team for the first 24 hours. The candidate will be expected to conduct a ward round of these patients when on call and ensure continuity of care if handed over to other clinical teams. On call is until 9 p.m. For those not proficient in gynaecological scanning, comprehensive training and supervision is provided.
