Qualifications

Job description

The Role

This role is based in Middlesbrough, with an office presence expected once or twice per month depending on the successful applicant’s location. As a Client Relationship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the company, acting as the lead for administration in both joint service and administration-only new business tenders and presentations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of administration services for a portfolio of Public Sector clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships, including liaison with Pension Boards, Committees, and scheme members.
  • Oversee and contribute to client meetings, including preparation and presentation of materials.
  • Handle complex pensions queries and provide consultative advice aligned with legislation and client needs.
  • Manage and monitor ad-hoc projects, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Stay up to date with pensions legislation and implement procedural updates as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to deliver a seamless client service.
  • Lead on new business tenders and presentations, representing the administration function.
Essential Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in Client Relationship Management and Public Sector pensions administration.
  • Educated to A Level, Degree, or equivalent, with strong Maths and English GCSEs.
  • APMI qualified or deemed ‘qualified by experience’.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in third‑party pensions administration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of DB schemes and pensions legislation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex queries, calculations, and client relationships.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Self‑motivated with a proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a consultative mindset.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical information for clients and colleagues.
  • Commercial awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.
