Overview
The Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Civil and Defence division are recruiting Senior Civil Engineers to join our fast growing team where you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects ranging from nuclear, defence, and other energy and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all stages of project evolution from feasibility and concept to detailed design work, planning support, through to project construction and commissioning.
- Involved in multi-disciplinary projects that requires liaising with Engineers internally within Mott MacDonald and external Clients/Stakeholders to provide cost‑effect infrastructure solutions.
- Responsible for leading and/or undertaking design and checking of engineering design works on a wide variety of energy, defence and other infrastructure projects.
- Prepare, in English, specifications and minimum functional specifications for the civil engineering aspects of energy, defence and other infrastructure projects.
- Lead civil inspections of infrastructure assets across the UK as part of asset maintenance and life extension. Prepare, in English, and provide to Client detailed inspection reports.
- Offer a consultative advisory approach to clients to ensure the best solution is offered to meet their needs.
- Undertake site and client office visits, as per project requirements.
- Ensure client satisfaction, pursue and promote opportunities with clients.
- Develop, maintain and monitor programmes for scheduling and costs and reporting on deliverables across specific projects.
- Assist with project management, control and administration as appropriate to the level of experience.
- Responsible for the development and mentoring of staff.
Qualifications
- Hold Chartered status or demonstrate equivalent experience with significant progress toward achieving Chartered status.
- Experience in the Energy Sector or similar regulated industries is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality engineering solutions aligned with your expertise and skills.
