Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Based near Glasgow

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

This is the ideal opportunity to join my client, a trusted, eco‑conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, known for lending their expertise to a range of high‑profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields. They are searching for a capable, enthusiastic Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects and help lead a newly‑established team of design professionals, based near the lively, cultural city of Glasgow.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:
  • Overseeing the design of a wide array of engineering developments
  • Leading a range of aspects of engineering projects, from initial inception through to successful delivery
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues in their development
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:
  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
  • Hold Chartered Status
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK‑based consultancy
  • Considerable experience of working with infrastructure (highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages, including Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar
  • Demonstrable experience of writing and amending a variety of reports for submission
  • Considerable experience of client and stakeholder liaison
  • Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:
  • Prior experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Previous experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public‑facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
