Join this fantastic Ofsted‑regulated 4‑bedded EBD home in Redditch! The organization is a therapeutically informed provider of children's residential care with two operational homes in the West Midlands area and plans to organically expand.
Package & Benefits
- Basic pay: up to £27,150 + £55 per sleep‑in, netting up to £34,960 p/a (based on 9‑11 sleeps p/m)
- Additional bonus package: Up to £1830 available in additional bonuses/benefits, including birthday off & paid, probationary completion bonus, 100% attendance bonus (paid in December), Employee of the Month, and Ofsted‑related bonuses
- Enhanced Overtime: up to £18.32 p/h (with opportunities)
- Paid on‑call: Complete one paid on‑call weekend day per month for £40 – enhanced OT rate payable if needed to cover
- Travel Allowance: For those traveling 10 miles or more to work, receive £60 p/m, totalling £720 p/a

What Will The Role Entail?
As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team while on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second‑to‑none delivery of care for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift‑leading, problem‑solving, and remaining calm under pressure are vital.
- Key‑working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging engagement in education, activities, and hobbies, and preparing them for adult life when they leave care.
- Develop and review Ofsted‑required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
- Follow Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understand safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Understand the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness, and finances.
Requirements
- 18+ months’ experience working specifically within a children’s home environment
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described above, including sleep‑ins
- A genuine passion for supporting the well‑being and healthy development of young people
