Job description

This is a role for a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare's Waterhouse Manor Care Home in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care to the residents, while also taking on supervisory duties and helping to develop the care staff.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changes impacting their care, and ensuring that care plans are updated accordingly. They will be involved in the person-centered care planning process, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the plans. The role will also involve supporting residents with their medication requirements, undertaking staff supervisions, and acting as a key point of contact for residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.

Shift details: Alternating weekend 8am to 8pm – 12 hour shifts

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of changes impacting care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
