Job description

We're looking for a driven and strategic Senior Business Development Manager to join us and play a pivotal role in growing our impact across the UK! This role can be offered on a fully remote basis, however someone local to the North East is preferred.

About the role: As our Senior Business Development Manager, you will lead the development of compelling, high-quality responses to new business opportunities, helping us increase our reach and deliver on our strategic business plan. You will clearly communicate how Everyturn will meet the needs of the people we support, expertly aligning our offer to commissioner requirements and wider intelligence. You'll oversee our bid management process end-to-end, creating persuasive narratives, robust bid plans, and clear win themes that demonstrate confidence in our ability to deliver outstanding mental health services. Working closely with development, clinical, operational and central support colleagues, you will also lead the creation of innovative new business and grant funding proposals that strengthen our partnerships with commissioners and expand our mission. This is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise to shape the future of our services and support more people to live well.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full bid process, from strategy and planning through to writing, review and submission.
  • Develop clear, persuasive bids, proposals and presentations that reflect our values and service model.
  • Review specifications and market intelligence to identify needs, opportunities and win themes.
  • Translate technical and clinical information into accessible, high-impact narratives.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive research and engagement.
  • Analyse market trends, commissioner priorities and competitor activity to inform strategy.
  • Maintain and improve our bid library, processes and quality standards.
  • Support colleagues with training, coaching and guidance on bid development.
  • Coordinate with teams across the organisation to ensure aligned, compliant and high-quality submissions.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • APMP certification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Strong track record of developing high-quality, successful bids.
  • Experience coaching or supporting colleagues.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders.
  • Skills in project management, risk management and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of NHS commissioning and bid management best practice.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship‑building and influencing abilities.
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Office 365.
  • Motivated, organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to Everyturn's values: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and innovation.
Desirable
  • Experience in mental health, social care or charity‑sector bidding.
  • Knowledge of specialist service areas (e.g., Community & Crisis, Children & Young People, NHS Talking Therapies).
  • Graphic design skills using software such as Canva.
