Senior Business Analyst - Financial Crime

Role Summary

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading the delivery of complex analysis within the Financial Crime Enhancement Programme. The Senior BA will support on the analysis within the central programme tech team and work with the Lead Business Analyst and other Business analysts within the team, ensuring that business outcomes are achieved through high-quality, value-driven solutions. The Senior BA is expected to work with peers within the central team and with senior stakeholders within the business teams. The Lead BA is expected to have experience working within Financial Crime, including KYC, CDD, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring & Sanctions domains.

Role Purpose

To support and deliver business analysis within portfolios, promote best practices, and support the development of the business analysis community.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Business Analysis
  • Produce requirements (including epics and user stories), perform interviews, analysis documents, run workshops (at a strategic level that includes complex business problems) define or record business process, prototyping scenarios, data analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Understand how the BA framework needs to be implemented to ensure delivery of key deliverables to support the Financial Crime Enhancement Programme.
  • Support strategic planning and long-term transformation by contributing to planning and analysis.
  • Ability to engage both business and technology stakeholders, to support all Financial Crime deliverables.
  • Understand the technology across Life, Asset Management & Financial Crime Compliance and will be comfortable working in a technology team and collaborating on complex Financial Crime problems.
  • Collaborate with Tech Leads and Senior Engineers to develop requirements and solutions to enhance and support the Financial Crime operating model.
  • Collaborate on QA approach to ensure quality and completeness of solutions.
• Ambassador for BA Ways of Working
  • Embed BA ways of working and promote consistency across teams.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and backlog refinement from a BA perspective.
  • Contribute to the BA Best Practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Build relationships with peers and senior stakeholders.
• Gatekeeper for Business Value
  • Validate the business value of solutions to ensure they meet business needs.
  • Contribute to prioritisation and unblock delivery issues to maintain progress.
• Enable Agile Delivery and Automation
  • Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to align analysis with delivery pipelines.
  • Define and execute the Defect Loop within the studio to ensure quality and traceability.
• Non-Functional Requirements Ownership
  • Document non-functional requirements and ensure they are addressed in solution design.
• Link with BA Community
  • Participate in BA community and own initiatives to share knowledge and promote best practices.
  • Support team morale and psychological safety to foster a positive work environment.
  • Seek and apply feedback for personal development and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the onboarding of new resources to the business analysis community.
• Strategic Planning
  • Support strategic planning and transformation efforts by contributing insights and analysis.
