Job summary

Job description

Job Title : 33kV Senior Authorised Person & 132kV Senior Authorised Person Required

Location : Predominantly South of England

Our client has various requirements for Senior Authorised Persons with experience at either 33kV or up to 132kV. This is to oversee works carried out by the Jointing and Engineering teams, ensuring all networks are installed safely, professionally, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake site-specific risk assessments and create RAMS.
• Assess potentially hazardous and dangerous situations and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of personnel, other site operatives, and the general public.
• Carry out audits and inspections of the workplace, tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
• Carry out network operations under instruction.
• Carry out fault work on networks as required.
• Responsible for the operational management of HV and LV installations.
• Prepare switching programmes for approval by another SAP Engineer.
• Assist other SAPs in carrying out network switching operations.
• Lead testing and commissioning of HV / LV distribution systems.
• Understand local network anomalies and ensure correct phase rotation.
• Issue and cancel safety documents.
• Produce reports for work undertaken.
• Plan and co-ordinate projects.
• Manage project budgets to assure efficiency and appropriate resource allocation.
• Manage and supervise all site personnel.
• Manage direct reports covering all managerial tasks including, but not limited to, performance reviews, authorising expenses, holidays and equipment requests, and upskilling.
• Assist in the training and development of personnel wishing to become an LV AP or HV AP.
• Ensure personnel under your control fully understand and adhere to their job requirements.

Requirements

• Experience working with a DNO or IDNO on networks up to 33kV or 132kV.
• HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant field, or significant industry experience.
• Proven experience leading teams and supervising site activities.
• Strong understanding of project management, with experience contributing to project delivery.
• Sanction for Test at DNO or ICP level.
• Valid CSCS (or equivalent) card.
• Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
