About The Role

We are looking for an Immigration Lawyer to join our well-established Employment and Immigration Team. The 40+ strong team offers specialist advice on the full range of employment issues, and our immigration experts provide support for both business and personal immigration matters.

We are looking to grow our immigration services to individuals, tapping into streams of work across the firm and through wider business development. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to lead on personal immigration work across the firm’s 10 offices. It is a key position within the national team as you will be an important part of the continued growth of our offering. We offer a supportive environment where you can grow your business, whilst having the guidance and expertise of the wider team.

You can be based in either our Central England office in Northampton, or our Birmingham office, but you will be expected to travel to our other offices, particularly London and our Thames Valley office in Reading. However, dependent on experience and for the right candidate, we would consider a London base.

What we need you to do :

  • Lead the growth of our personal immigration offering across the firm
  • Advise on a range of issues across business and individual immigration, with focus on individual immigration.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on issues withinimmigration, working collaboratively with colleagues across the whole team to share knowledge.
  • Contribute to business development opportunities and identify networking opportunities internally and externally, marketing and cross selling
  • Support and train junior members of the team.

About You

You will need :

  • 7+ years or more PQE, although exceptional candidates with less PQE who can demonstrate strength and depth of experience will be considered.
  • A solid grounding inimmigration work, particularly individual immigration
  • The ability to grow our individual immigration offering through business development and working alongside relevant organisations
  • An ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships
  • Excellent technical ability and drafting skills
  • To demonstrate teamwork and relationship building skills
  • To have strong commercial acumen
  • To be proactive, ambitious and organised with a keen eye for detail
