About Eurasia Group and GZERO Media

Eurasia Group is the world's leading global research and advisory firm. We help clients understand, anticipate, and respond to instability and opportunities everywhere they do business.

Together with GZERO Media—the go-to source of first insight into geopolitics—and our full‑fledged events team, the Eurasia Group umbrella provides a complete political risk solution.

Headquartered in New York, we have offices in Washington, London, São Paulo, Brasilia, Tokyo, Singapore, and San Francisco, as well as on‑the‑ground experts in more than a hundred countries in every region of the world.

We are committed to analysis that is free of political bias and the influence of private interests.

Position Overview

Eurasia Group is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Analyst to join its Global Environment & Sustainability Practice. This role focuses on climate transition across industries, sustainability due diligence, and sustainable finance. The Senior Analyst will serve as Eurasia Group’s foremost expert on climate‑related issues.

The ideal candidate should possess a graduate degree and at least eight years of experience in relevant research and advisory positions, showcasing expertise in analyzing climate‑related risks and opportunities within the broader context of responsible investment and sustainable finance.

We require a candidate who is comfortable with a fast‑moving, changing, small‑company environment; someone who can deal with ambiguity and a lack of formal structures. We need someone who is low‑ego, a team player, and someone who focuses on solving problems. The Senior Analyst could be based in Eurasia Group’s offices in either the UK (London) or the US (Washington, DC, or New York).

Responsibilities

  • Shape and lead Eurasia Group’s climate transition coverage across industries, collaborating closely with other departments.
  • Sectoral priorities: Insurance, agrifood systems, forestry, fast‑moving consumer goods, mining, shipping, chemical production, aviation, defense, energy, tech, the auto industry, and healthcare.
  • Train and collaborate with junior staff on climate policy issues.
  • Assess country and regional political risks associated with sustainable finance.
  • Conduct thorough research and produce both concise, forward‑looking analyses and comprehensive reports for clients.
  • Brief financial sector and corporate clients at both high and technical levels.
  • Meet tight deadlines and write in a clear, business‑oriented manner.
  • Travel regularly across different regions, 25‑30%

Qualifications

  • Have 8‑10 years of experience conducting research on climate policy, with an understanding of its relevance to investors, large corporations, and markets.
  • Possess deep knowledge of sustainable finance and climate‑related regulatory efforts.
  • Hold an advanced degree in political science, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and presentation skills, both oral and written; write clearly and quickly, and efficiently review and edit colleagues’ work.
  • Have experience integrating ESG considerations into responsible investment decision‑making processes at both the country and sectoral levels.
  • Have prior experience in consulting, large financial institutions, or leading organizations working with or for investors.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $115,000 USD.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
