About the job: Senior Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding practice where you can develop your career, receive guidance and training you require to reach your potential, whilst working alongside highly experienced accountants and other professionals. Our client offers training both on site and externally.

Job Purpose:

To use your knowledge and skills to deliver a first-class service to our clients and provide accounts and audit support to a busy accountancy practice.

Duties:

  • Manage and take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients
  • Preparation and review of complex company financial statements
  • Preparation and review of interim management accounts
  • Preparation and review of personal tax returns
  • Preparation and review of partnership accounts and returns
  • Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
  • Train members of staff and allocate duties

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice (ideally 1+ years PQE) as an experienced Accounts Senior, Assistant Manager, looking to progress further. Finalists will also be considered with the right experience and drive.
  • Ability to manage own workload and develop team members
  • Proficiency in Office 365, in-house programs, spreadsheets, and accounting software like Sage, Xero, or Quickbooks
  • Experience with accounts preparation programs, preferably IRIS
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients with accounts, tax, and advisory work

  • 37.5 hours/week with flexible hours (10:30 am - 4:00 pm core hours)
