Job summary

An independent special school in Bishop Auckland is seeking an enthusiastic SENDCo to support the strategic development of SEND provision. The successful candidate will oversee SEND policy, coordinate targeted provision for pupils, and lead interventions for academic and social progress. Qualifications

  • Accredited SENDCo qualification necessary.
  • Hold QTS or QTLS certification.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Passionate about inclusive education.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic development of SEND provision.
  • Oversee SEND policy and coordinate provision for pupils.
  • Conduct Annual and Emergency Reviews of EHCPs.
  • Lead interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Provide guidance to staff and collaborate with parents.
  • Monitor Teaching & Learning quality focus on SEND.
  • Manage the SEND budget and resources.
  • Line manage staff to maximize SEND impact.
  • Champion inclusion and access to the curriculum.
