Job description

We are working in partnership with a specialist school in Skelmersdale who support pupils with additional needs ages 2-11. The school are looking to recruit Welfare Assistants to support over lunchtime, from 11.30am-1.30pm, due to an increase in pupil numbers. The role is to start as soon as possible. It will be a long term role with the view to have the opportunity to apply to transfer over to a permanent contract for the right person.

Ideally looking for Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Health and Social Care Qualification or equivalent. You will need to have experience in supporting pupils with SEND this could come from a wide range of backgrounds from own family members, sports coaching, social/residential care, mainstream or specialist schools.

• Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Relevant Teaching Assistant or Health & Social Care qualification is preferred, but not essential if you have relevant experience
• Available to start in January, and ability to commit to the hours (11.30am-1.30pm) and days (Monday to Friday) required
