Overview

SEND Team Manager – North West Local Authority. 3 month initial contract. 5 Days per week. £350 per day. Hybrid (1 day on site per week). Inside IR35. Start ASAP.

We are currently working in partnership with a forward-thinking local authority to recruit an experienced SEND Team Manager for an interim assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic and knowledgeable professional to lead on complex casework and contribute to service-wide improvements in SEND provision.

In this role, you will support a county-wide function by managing case queries that require specialist input and resolution. You’ll ensure all decisions are compliant with statutory SEND legislation and local policies, while offering expert guidance to team managers and case officers. The successful candidate will also work closely with colleagues in Finance and Legal to facilitate effective, child-focused outcomes.

A key aspect of this role involves preparing and chairing the EOTAS forum, ensuring consistent and transparent decision-making across the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on complex SEND case queries and provide strategic direction.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties and local SEND policies.
• Provide expert advice and support to team managers and case officers.
• Liaise with Finance and Legal teams to resolve cases effectively.
• Chair the EOTAS forum and uphold consistent decision-making standards.
• Contribute to service development and quality assurance initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation and EOTAS.
• Ability to manage complex casework and lead multi-disciplinary collaboration.
