Overview

SEND Teaching Assistant – Axcis Education · Rochdale/Oldham · Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025 · £89 – £95 per day (PAYE / Umbrella options available)

Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our inclusive partner schools from 3rd November 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in both mainstream and specialist settings. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students with their learning, behaviour, and social development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
  • Support pupils with classroom activities, emotional regulation, and communication.
  • Implement strategies to encourage independence and progress.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO.
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school, youth work, or care settings all considered).
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A positive, patient, and flexible approach.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
