Overview

Axcis Education is working with a well-regarded Alternative Provision in Torbay seeking a passionate and resilient SEND Teacher or Cover Supervisor from after October Half Term. This role delivers subjects – mostly at primary aged level – across the curriculum. Hours are 8.30–15.30 and the day rate is between £150–£200, depending on previous experience and qualifications. There is a strong possibility of the role becoming full-time and permanent for the right candidate.

  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Days: Monday to Wednesday (3 days/week)
  • Location: Torbay, Devon
  • Setting: Alternative Provision (supporting students with SEMH and ADHD)
  • Salary: Paid against Main Pay Scale for Qualified for Unqualified Teachers (Daily Equivalent)
  • Potential: Long-term opportunity with potential to become full-time and permanent

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience as a Cover Supervisor in a similar environment is highly desirable

The role involves safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An up-to-date DBS is required (or the provider can process one on your behalf) along with other mandatory checks in line with DfE guidelines. If the position involves working with children or vulnerable adults, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
