Job summary

A provide education recruitment agency seeks a Teacher of Mathematics for a full-time role in Huddersfield. Job description

We are currently working with a school in the Huddersfield area who are looking to recruit a Teacher of Mathematics to work within their specialist provision for students with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND). The secondary aged children in the unit have a mix of Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Complex Communication & Interaction (CCI) needs, learning difficulties and complex medical needs. This is a full time role, starting in January and working on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Mathematics lessons for SEND students
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and progress
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
  • Assess and mark student work, providing constructive feedback to aid development
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and contribute to pastoral care and extracurricular activities
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE, SCITT, etc.)
  • Recent teaching experience in UK primary schools
  • Knowledge of the Mathematics secondary curriculum
  • Experience delivering lessons to children with a range of SEND
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Completed Level 1 Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete online)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
