SEND Teacher – Key Stage 4 – Special School

A welcoming and supportive special school in the Coleshill area is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to teach a Key Stage 4 class of students with special educational needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teacher who is passionate about supporting older students to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside their academic learning.

The school provides a calm, structured environment where students feel safe and supported. As a SEND Teacher, you will be teaching a small Key Stage 4 class, adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs and preparing students for their next steps. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a leadership team that values teamwork and staff wellbeing.

Job Role:
  • Teaching a Key Stage 4 SEND class, delivering a personalised and accessible curriculum
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs
  • Supporting students with communication, social development, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants to provide consistent classroom support
  • Managing behaviour positively and building strong, respectful relationships with students
  • Contributing to reviews, assessments, and individual education plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, ideally at secondary or Key Stage 4 level
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to engage learners with diverse needs
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people with SEND
