SEND Teacher – Key Stage 2 – Complex Learning Needs – Solihull

Are you a passionate SEND Teacher who believes in the power of education to transform lives? This all-through special school in Solihull is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team, teaching a small class of Key Stage 2 pupils with complex learning needs.

As a SEND Teacher, you will be joining a nurturing, well-resourced environment that is committed to helping every child reach their full potential. Pupils have a range of complex needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication challenges. The successful SEND Teacher will deliver creative, engaging, and individualised lessons that inspire confidence and encourage progress.

You’ll be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, a compassionate leadership team, and access to excellent facilities designed to support sensory and emotional development. This is an opportunity for a SEND Teacher who is looking for a fulfilling role where every day brings new challenges and rewards.

Job Role:
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons as a SEND Teacher for a Key Stage 2 class.
  • Creating a positive, structured, and stimulating learning environment that promotes engagement and progress.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants to deliver consistent support and interventions.
  • Using your skills as a SEND Teacher to implement strategies that meet the needs of pupils with Autism, MLD, and other complex needs.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals.
  • Supporting the emotional regulation and communication development of pupils.
  • Using creative teaching approaches and sensory activities to promote understanding and independence.
  • Monitoring progress, maintaining detailed records, and contributing to EHCP reviews.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and sharing best practice as a valued SEND Teacher within the team.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and helping shape a positive, inclusive ethos.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience as a SEND Teacher or a teacher passionate about moving into special education.
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support students with complex learning needs.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • A patient, creative, and compassionate approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to supporting children to overcome barriers and achieve personal and academic goals.
