Overview

SEND Science Teacher—Location: Preston (PR2). Contract: Full-time (8:45 am‑3:15 pm, Monday‑Friday). Salary: £160‑190 per day, dependent on experience. The role starts January 2026. This position requires teaching GCSE science to students aged 11‑16 with additional needs, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs, and may also involve teaching KS2 science. Transport links are offered from Preston city centre and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver GCSE science lessons for students with additional needs.
  • Provide support for KS2 science where required.
  • Facilitate a supportive learning environment for students presenting moderately challenging behaviour.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Brilliant communication skills, empathy, and patience.
