Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Wombwell
Pay Rate: £85 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Wombwell. This role is ideal for someone who can bring patience, understanding, and commitment to helping every child access their education and reach their full potential.

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs. Your role will involve providing one-to-one and small group interventions, adapting resources to suit individual learners, and encouraging independence within a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide focused 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to match individual needs.
  • Support positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Track and share pupil progress to ensure targeted support.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence in all learners.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
  • Resilience and commitment to supporting inclusive education.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
