Teaching Assistant – SEN School

Huddersfield | Full-Time | Term-Time Only

£22,478 – £26,839 (Depending on Experience)

We’re looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a brand-new SEN school in Huddersfield, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with additional learning needs. Pupils may have a range of needs including autism, social and emotional difficulties, speech and language challenges, and other complex learning requirements.

You’ll play a key role in supporting their academic, emotional, and social development in a therapeutic and nurturing environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide tailored 1 : 1 and small group support in and out of class
  • Assist with speech, language, literacy, and numeracy development
  • Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence
  • Support lesson delivery, behaviour management, and resource preparation
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
What We’re Looking For:
  • GCSEs (A–C) or NVQ Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Experience working in a primary, secondary or SEN setting
  • Strong communication, organisation, and ICT skillsAbility to build positive, respectful relationships with pupils
