A dedicated educational organization in Lambeth is seeking an SEN Primary Teacher to lead a resource base class for children with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have QTS and experience with ASD, focusing on personalized, play-based learning. This full-time role emphasizes teamwork and professional development within a nurturing environment.
Are you looking for a SEN Primary Teacher role?
Do you have a strong understanding of ASD, early developmental learning, and strategies to support pre-verbal children?
Are you confident planning highly differentiated, EYFS-style activities for pupils working below age-related expectations?
If so, this could be the ideal role for you!
As the SEN Primary Teacher, you will be leading a small and highly supported resource base class consisting of children in Years 1, 2, and 3, the majority of whom are pre-verbal and have diagnoses of ASD. The children are working at an Early Years developmental stage, and your role will involve planning personalised, play-based learning experiences tailored to their individual needs. You will deliver learning through structured routines, visual supports, sensory play, communication strategies (such as PECS and Makaton, where required), and meaningful, child-led activities. A strong focus will be placed on communication, social interaction, sensory regulation, and life skills. This role would suit a patient, creative, and calm teacher with a passion for working with children with complex needs.
This mainstream primary school in Lambeth places a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional development, and delivering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The school consists of 226 pupils. You will be joining a dedicated team who work collaboratively to support pupils' communication, independence, and emotional development.
