About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced and passionate SEN GCSE Tutors to deliver 1:1 tuition in Maths and English for students in Blackpool. You will support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH, helping them close learning gaps and build confidence for exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored GCSE Maths and English lessons adapted to SEN learning profiles.
  • Adjust lesson content and pace to support emotional regulation and different learning styles.
  • Help students develop subject knowledge, study skills, and exam confidence.
  • Build a trusting rapport and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to parents/carers or professionals.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
  • Experience working with learners with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable Qualifications
  • PGCE in Secondary Education and/or QTS.
  • Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
