All about the Role

FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL DECEMBER 2026

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to cover the current post holder's maternity leave up to December 2026. The postholder will deal with many aspects of Special Educational Needs Finance including

  • the raising of purchase orders and invoices & liaising with Suppliers
  • the maintenance of commitment records
  • monitoring of personal Education budgets and Direct Payment agreements
  • budgetary control forecasting and the preparation of future year estimates
  • assisting with the completion of Governance reports

The post is based in Sandmartin House, Peterborough. Hybrid working is available.

The closing date for the role is the 19th of January. To be shortlisted for interview, applicants should evidence how they meet the essential & desirable criteria in their application.

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer with excellent ICT skills, with a strong attention to detail, who is able to work on their own initiative with a minimum of supervision. You will be a competent Excel user and be able to analyse large and complex data sets. You will possess strong communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance staff. You will have strong time management skills which will mean you can respond to tight deadlines and urgent requests for information.
