Overview

SEN English Teacher - Temporary (4 Days per Week). Start: ASAP. Duration: ASAP - July 2026. Location: Gateshead. Working Pattern: 4 days per week - Monday-Thursday.

We are supporting a specialist provision in Gateshead seeking a temporary SEN English Teacher to work with KS3, KS4 and Post-16 learners.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering Entry Level and Functional Skills English
  • Working with pupils with ASD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Supporting learners working at a lower academic level
  • Teaching within a small-group, specialist setting
Requirements
  • Strong experience supporting SEN learners
  • Confident teaching Entry Level / Functional Skills English
  • Flexible, calm and adaptable approach
  • Ability to work respectfully within a religious community setting
Desirable
  • Background in SEN schools, alternative provision or specialist settings
  • QTS advantageous but not essential
