Overview

SEMH Teaching Assistants Needed

TeacherActive are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day to day, short term and long term basis in SEMH/SEND schools based in Birmingham. We are looking for people who have experience working with challenging students who are looking for a slight career change to move into a school environment.

The school are requiring extra staff due to extra student referrals which has meant that the school are needing extra staff to work 1:1 and general classroom help.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils out of the classroom, with pastoral and personal development
  • Manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other TAs
  • Patrol school working with pupils not in class, for whatever reason
Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience working with teenagers
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work
  • Experience within an SEMH school or setting
