Responsibilities
To provide exceptional leadership and direction in the management of the Security Team to support and manage centre operations during retailer trading hours. To provide clear and timely communication to all within the centre and management on key issues that affect business operation and customer service delivery. To represent the client, their Guests and retailers and ensure their interests are protected at all times.
- Live operation management of the MITIE Security Team covering: common/public areas, emergency and evacuation procedures, health, safety and welfare of security personnel, incidents affecting centre operations, building security and safety.
- Lead and direct security personnel on duty to ensure issues are dealt with correctly and promptly.
- Provide timely communication to the centre manager and MITIE management on incidents, serious incident tracking, absence & lateness reporting, officer misconduct, and incident logging through to completion.
- Investigate and report on incidents/accidents; liaise with retailers and other suppliers; manage personnel deployment in the Mall, Car Park and Service Yards; oversee officer allocation during events.
- Provide senior management support outside core hours as requested.
- Complete and check all accident and health and safety reports and entry to Safeguard; manage Centre Lock Down/Unlock; conduct weekly audits of security activities and equipment checks; ensure SOPs are followed and corrective actions raised where needed.
- Maintain standards of dress, safety and presentation; provide training and coaching to staff; ensure site training and signed Assignment Instructions; conduct 121s and appraisals; assist in recruitment for the security team.
- Arrange regular meetings with the Senior Security Team; handle day-to-day enquiries regarding centre security operations; develop relations with local agencies and services; perform other reasonable management or client requests.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Holder of a valid Door Supervisor licence.
- Holder of a valid PSS (CCTV) licence.
Health and Safety responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
- Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may affect service delivery or health and safety.
- Use all work equipment and PPE properly and report training needs to your Line Manager.
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures; proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
