Qualifications

  • Experience in land management and water-based practical qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cycling and walking paths, and keep car parks tidy.
  • Carry out land and woodland management activities.
  • Assist in the management of the fishery and report on catch data.

Are you passionate about preserving natural spaces, maintaining beautiful environments, and delivering exceptional experiences for visitors?

We're looking for dedicated Park Rangers to join the team at Rutland Water.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for friendly, customer focused people to join the team, where you will be maintaining our cycling and walking paths and keeping our car parks tidy to ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit. You will also be carrying out land and woodland management, organising and delivering fishing events and working closely with the Estate manager to always ensure visitor safety.

You'll assist in the management of the fishery by maintaining appropriate level and quality of stock, reporting variances to the Estate manager, report weekly on catch data and ensure compliance with relevant permit and hire bylaws. You will have the opportunity to develop commercial fishing events and promote the fishery and wider water park via our social media channels.

What does it take to be a Park Ranger?
  • Experience in the maintenance and management of country parks and/or fisheries
  • Experience in land management and/or water based practical qualification (desirable)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible and willingness to learn
  • Availability to work weekday/weekends /bank holidays
  • Show enthusiasm about our parks and ability to share enthusiasm with customers
  • Full driving licence required
