A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Scientific Officer for Quality Management in their Pathology Department. The ideal candidate will be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with experience in Pathology quality and UKAS accreditation. Scientific Officer - Quality Management

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, self motivated Scientific Officer in Quality Management within CHFT's Pathology Department, to work closely with the Pathology Quality Manager. The Pathology Department is across two hospital sites (Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital) and all areas of the pathology service are currently UKAS accredited.
We are looking for a qualified HCPC Biomedical Scientist who will be a key member of the Quality team within CHFT, has previous Pathology quality experience and has participated in UKAS accreditation.
The post holder will work closely with the Pathology Quality Manager to support the management, development and maintenance of the QMS for all departments within Pathology.
The post holder will be required to be a point of contact within the Quality team for all matters related to Quality Management. Triaging requests for support and communicating effectively with the Quality Manager and Administrator to ensure the team delivers appropriate guidance and support across Pathology. This will require liaising effectively with all grades and roles of across Pathology including clinical, scientific and support staff.
To assist the Quality Manager with the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System and the electronic Quality Management System.
To provide advice (within scope of practice) alongside the Pathology Quality Manager, to all pathology and Trust staff on matters relating to accreditation, governance, and quality assurance within Pathology on such quality initiatives as are deemed necessary to achieve and maintain compliance with UKAS, relevant ISO, MHRA Blood Safety and Quality Regulations and Human Tissue Act requirements.
CHFT employs more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
