Job description
Science Teacher/Professional - North Bristol

Protocol Education are working with secondary schools in the North Bristol area to appoint enthusiastic and committed Science Teachers/Professionals. With that in mind, we are looking for individuals who carry a passion for maths, working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives and education.

Although QTS would be preferred, schools will accept subject specialists or those with experience working with young people or in education in another capacity.

Start Date: ASAP

Closing Date: Rolling start date

Qualified Teachers paid to scale

Unqualified – based on experience

Job Duties:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons to students – if unqualified, there will be no planning and marking. This will be prepared and done for you.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to enhance learning.
  • Establish a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and student support.
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – preferred but not essential.
  • Degree/Experience in Science or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Science.
Experience:
  • Proven experience teaching Science at secondary school level is preferred.
  • Experience working with children/young people within education.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent understanding of science concepts and principles.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with science specialism.
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
