Overview

Science Teacher (Biology) - Secondary School (Southport, Merseyside)

Pay: £135 - £200 per day (depending on experience)

Location: Southport, Merseyside

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Initial 3 months with the view to extension (potential to become permanent)

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4 only (up to Year 11)

Exam Board: AQA

DBS: Enhanced required

About the Role

People Dynamix Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking Secondary School in Southport to recruit a Science Teacher, ideally specialising in Biology. This role is ideal for a passionate science specialist who can inspire students and bring Biology to life through engaging, practical, and accessible lessons.

You will be teaching KS3 and KS4 Biology, following the AQA syllabus, within a supportive science department that values collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Biology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver practical experiments and investigations
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Track pupil progress and use data to inform teaching
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
  • Promote enthusiasm for science and STEM subjects
  • Support enrichment activities such as science clubs or trips
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in Biology (or strong Biology teaching experience)
  • Confident teaching KS3 and KS4 AQA Biology
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
