Science Teacher - Secondary School in Southampton

Start Date: After the Easter Holidays (Summer Term)

Contract: Full-Time | Summer Term (with potential extension)

Pay: £165 - £245 per day (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Position Overview

A high-performing and inclusive secondary school in the Southampton/Romsey area is seeking a committed Science Teacher to join them for the Summer Term. This full‑time role begins immediately after the Easter holidays and offers the opportunity to teach motivated students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a well‑resourced and forward‑thinking Science faculty.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, practical lessons that spark curiosity and help students build strong scientific understanding. You will be joining a department that places real emphasis on enquiry skills, mastery of scientific knowledge, and inspiring learners through relevant, real‑world science.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4.
  • Planning and delivering practical, engaging and well‑structured lessons.
  • Supporting students preparing for AQA Combined Science: Trilogy and (where appropriate) separate sciences GCSE pathways.
  • Assessing and tracking pupil progress, providing clear feedback.
  • Creating a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect and high achievement.
  • Working collaboratively within a hardworking and supportive Science Faculty.
What We're Looking For
  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS, or someone on the pathway to QTS.
  • Experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong behaviour management and confident classroom delivery.
  • A genuine passion for Science and inspiring young learners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and maintaining high standards.
