The Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster School health Service are developing their school nursing workforce and are offering School Staff Nurse Band 5 positions that can be a gateway for the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (school nursing) (SCPHN).

School Staff Nurses manage a school nursing case load for a group of schools, with the support and supervision of Band 6 SCPHN School Nurses within a large skill mixed team. The team provides a universal and targeted school nursing service to mainstream primary and secondary schools, pupil referral units and special schools across the Bi-Borough.
Duties:
The post holder will work in partnership with professionals from multiple agencies to meet the health needs of a specific population of children and young people within a group of schools, together with their families and the wider community where this is relevant. The Post holder will have sufficient post registration nursing experience in a children's/Paediatric or adult setting and can demonstrate experience in effective multi agency working.

The NMC plays an important role in safeguarding the public by regulating the work of nurses and all nurses, including Community Staff Nurses in the school nursing services are expected to register with the NMC each year and adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
