Overview
We are looking for an experienced cleaner to join our team at a local school in the LN6 area of Lincoln. Job Purpose: To provide efficient and effective cleaning to the assigned workplace and ensure that the cleanliness and general appearance of the building are maintained in accordance with required standards and site requirements.
Responsibilities
- Empty waste bins or similar receptacles and transport waste material to designated collection points.
- Sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops.
- Mop floors with wet or damp mops.
- Dust, damp wipe, wash or polish equipment, furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, mirrors, shelves and fittings in line with the cleaning schedule.
- Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) as required.
- Clean showers, toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks.
- Use cleaning products as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
- Operate relevant equipment safely.
- Maintain tidy and organised work spaces and storage areas.
- Check equipment/machinery used and ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Work effectively in a team or on own.
- Keep a check on cleaning stock levels and report low stock levels.
- Carry out routine administrative tasks required, in paper or electronic form (e.g., checking off cleaning tasks on daily cleaning specification sheets and completing time sheets).
- There may be particular duties other than those given in the job description for the post. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility. In cases of permanent and substantial changes, the post could be eligible for re-evaluation.
Working hours
- Monday - Friday. 3.30pm-5.30pm approximately during term times.
- Up to 4 weeks per year of additional work out of term time.
- Wages paid each month throughout the year (Equated Pay).
