School Caretaker required for a Primary School in Croydon

At Engage Education, we’re currently recruiting for a School Caretaker position in Croydon after building a strong relationship with a local grouping of schools. They are looking for an experienced school caretaker with experience managing a school campus.

Our Engage Services team specialise in the placement of non classroom based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities.

About the role

As a School Caretaker, you’ll be an experienced facilities professional who supervises work across the school with both external and internal contractors. You will have keyholder responsibilities and will be expected to :

  • Ensure the good order and maintenance of the building and grounds, both on a daily basis and long‑term basis.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the school premises and its contents, staff and pupils.
  • Manage and maintain furniture and equipment in the school.
  • Receive deliveries of school equipment, ensuring that they are quickly and efficiently moved on to the appropriate area / department.
  • Carry out specified cleaning responsibilities.
  • Assist public relations by responding to parents and site visitors in a helpful manner.
  • Maintain good relations with the Headteacher, teachers, non‑teaching staff, pupils, parents and governors.
