Job summary

A leading UK health trust is offering fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow positions in Geriatrics and Frailty with a special interest in Medical Education. This role involves a combination of acute hospital and community-based experience, focusing on patient care and educational programmes. The successful postholder will lead undergraduate teaching and engage in clinical activities while also gaining valuable QIP experience. Essential qualifications include GMC registration and MRCP, alongside substantial experience in Geriatric Medicine.

Qualifications

Job description

We are excited to be advertising fixed term Geriatrics and Frailty Senior Clinical Fellow posts with a Special Interest in Medical Education.

These posts are designed to be rotational with experience in the Acute Hospital (Queens, Romford) and Community-based Ageing Well Centre (St George's Wellbeing Hub, Romford).

The post is based within the COE inpatient teams with 25% on-call commitment to GIM, 40% COE clinical work (including inpatient and specialist clinics), 35% medical education activities within COE (released from clinical work) (GIM commitment subject to roster changes over time but the activity split not expected to vary significantly).

The post holder would coordinate the undergraduate teaching within COE as well as the delivery of educational programmes for new starters to our team, including IMG and trainees and early postgraduate colleagues (such as foundation doctors). Educational activities would include bedside teaching, small group activities and other programmes. The postholder would also be able to participate in QIP and have the opportunity to develop and train in their own area of special interest in COE (suggested areas include falls, delirium and community).

The post includes Internal Medicine on-call at SpR level, as well as rotational experience within our inpatient teams, community and clinic experience.
