Location: London
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in exhibitions, events, and specialist fit‑outs. The successful candidate will lead construction and installation projects from initial design coordination through to on‑site delivery, ensuring high‑quality execution within fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments. This role is ideal for a dynamic, organised, and hands‑on professional who thrives in the events and exhibitions sector, where rapid turnarounds, creative builds, and impeccable attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Delivery: Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of exhibition and event construction projects across London and nationwide as required; take projects from concept, design development, and pre‑construction through to build, installation, and handover; develop project programmes, schedule works, and manage timelines to ensure all deadlines are met, often under tight time constraints.
  • Site & Contractor Management: Manage on‑site construction teams, subcontractors, and specialist installers; conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, compliance with design specifications, and adherence to health and safety regulations; coordinate logistics, access, installation sequencing, and site constraints typical of exhibition halls, event venues, and temporary structures.
  • Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for clients, venue management, design teams, and suppliers; attend client meetings, present progress updates, and manage expectations; translate creative design concepts into practical construction solutions.
  • Budget & Commercial Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, procurement schedules, and contract documents; track project expenditure, variations, and risks, ensuring projects are delivered within cost parameters.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all works comply with CDM regulations, venue‑specific requirements, and project risk assessments; maintain accurate project documentation, RAMS, and quality assurance records.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the exhibitions, events, museum installations, experiential builds, or specialist fit‑out sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, temporary structures, and high‑quality fabrication processes.
  • Experience working within major London venues such as ExCeL, Olympia, QEII, Tobacco Dock, or similar (preferred).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate clearly across creative and technical teams.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
  • Competent with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, CAD viewers).
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance.
  • CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS beneficial.
Personal Attributes
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to last‑minute changes common in event environments.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Confident decision‑maker with strong leadership skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solution‑focused.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and package.
  • Opportunity to work on high‑profile events, exhibitions, and creative builds across London.
  • Career progression within a growing and highly respected events construction company.
