A leading IT Service provider is seeking SC-cleared IT Support Engineers for a nationwide laptop deployment project in London. The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This is an umbrella contract, and the role is Inside IR35.

Job description
Role Overview

We are seeking SC-cleared IT Support Engineers to deliver a nationwide, deskside laptop deployment project for a leading IT Service provider based in and around London.

  • Engineer will be responsible for completing approximately 40 individual deployments during the project period.
  • Engineers must be based across key regions (London, South East, East of England, North East, North West) or be able to travel to multiple sites, arriving as early as 8:00 AM.
  • Engineers are expected to complete at least three handovers per week.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a structured 2–3 day training programme on the end-to-end handover process, including shadowing sessions at deployment sites.
  • Deliver on-site laptop handovers to end users following a documented process.
  • Provide support and respond to any technical challenges encountered during deployments, with remote support available on deployment days.
  • Each handover takes approximately 2 hours, but flexibility is required as schedules may shift, especially if the user is delayed or called away.
Requirements
  • SC clearance is essential and must be active at the time of application.
  • Proven experience supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Background in desk-side IT support, with a strong emphasis on high-quality customer service.
  • Able to follow detailed, documented configuration steps with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging professionally with senior users.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently.
  • Must be adaptable to changing schedules and willing to travel extensively.
  • Full toolkit required.
  • Engineers will deploy laptops using equipment trolleys and will be based at various locations around the UK.

This is an umbrella contract, the role is Inside IR35.
