Department: Supply Chain Administration

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: UK/Basingstoke

Reporting To: Sales Support Team Leader

Description

Commercially astute, the Sales Support Executive acts as part of the sales cycle by being the first point of contact for group of customers for sales, order enquiries, order admin logistics and covering the supply of products through ERP systems. Manages orders from initial enquiry to final delivery to customers’ sites within agreed lead times, by taking a proactive approach to the process. Supports the Sales Manager in their role to optimise sales and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all order entry activities for global operations. Activities include but are not limited to: Customer order management and system input, order inquiries and follow-up shipment scheduling and processing, customer contact.
  • Work with freight forwarders to ensure proper customs clearance and documentation are issued
  • Coordinating with other departments: credit control, planning and inventory.
  • Proactively manages customer accounts, ensuring timely acknowledgement of customer orders, managing order quotations in agreement with the Sales Manager
  • Help coordinate credit maintenance, including proactive coordination of payment activity and compliance with customers’ Letters of Credit.
  • Identifies, expedites, or escalates any issues likely to impact agreed delivery dates
  • Identifies and escalates technical issues, ensuring that these are resolved through the appropriate channels
  • Ad hoc customer reporting for Sales Manager
  • Any other tasks as required to ensure the effective operation of the role and the whole department
  • Attending team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Educational Qualifications / Training
  • Excellent IT skills including strong Excel skills.
  • Desirable but not essential understanding and Using Letters of Credit
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems
  • Desirable but not essential understanding Logistics skills - Incoterms2000
