Job description

If you are a sales manager with experience growing, motivating and leading an internal sales team and driving new business and delivering growth for a construction or building product manufacturer or engineering firm, then I would love to hear from you.

We are working with a leading and growing UK manufacturer within the technical building products / construction sector seeking a driven, ambitious and self‑motivated Sales Manager to be based on‑site in Hertfordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading UK company and have a real impact during a period of growth.

This UK manufacturer is known for the quality and innovation of its product offering, supplying engineering and manufacturing businesses covering a variety of sectors including construction, roads, marine, safety, architectural and agriculture to name a few.

As Sales Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for leading, developing, and scaling the sales function within your division with two internal sales reports. You’ll build a culture of performance and accountability, empowering your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and consistent sales growth.

Success in this role means creating a high‑performing inbound sales team while establishing a proactive, outbound business development capability. You’ll coach, challenge, and inspire and adopt best‑practice sales habits and evidence‑based performance behaviours, driving measurable, predictable results.

Reporting to the Divisional Lead, you will translate the strategic direction of the group and division into tactical execution through oversight and hands‑on involvement—personally developing key accounts, supporting technical solutions, and embedding EOS principles.

Key responsibilities
  • Support technical solution design and manage complex customer queries
  • Monitor pipelines, KPIs and performance metrics with robust forecasting
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations and marketing.

To apply for this role we are looking for someone with a proven track record in sales management and business development and within daily commute of the office in Hertfordshire.

Any experience in technical sales – ideally within building products / construction manufacturing or engineering – would be beneficial as well as demonstrated success in coaching, training and developing high‑performing sales teams.

Other key traits
  • Being commercially astute with strong analytical and forecasting skills.
  • An excellent communicator with outstanding relationship‑building skills.
  • Passionate, self‑driven and ambitious and thrives in a performance‑led culture.

On offer is a salary of up to £50,000, uncapped bonus (likely OTE £62,000) and 25 days’ plus bank holidays and a buy‑and‑sell holiday scheme, free on‑site parking and standard Government pension scheme.
