Sales Director – (Engineering / Refrigeration / UK& Global Sales) Based : - Leicester / Loughborough / Derby / Nottingham

Location: 3 days office | 2 days remote - (Home or on the road with clients / BD)

Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + Bonus (upto 30%) + Benefits

This role exists to professionalise and scale the sales function of this global R&D & Manufacturing group.

The Ideal Candidate Experience
  • 10+ years in industrial / engineering CapEx sales.
  • Background in industrial refrigeration, HVAC or thermal management is a significant advantage.

You will inherit a solid US foundation and a growing global distributor network, with a clear mandate to move the business from a reactive, farmer‑led sales model to a proactive, hunter‑driven strategy.

This isn’t about shifting boxes faster. It’s about winning specification, embedding the company as the default standard in global OEM supply chains, and building a sales engine that scales internationally.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth
  • Own and execute the global sales strategy, pivoting the organisation from reactive order‑taking to proactive OEM hunting.
  • Report into the GM and work on new Sales / Commercial Strategy to drive growth.
  • Identify and secure design‑in opportunities at R&D and concept stage.
  • Drive long‑term revenue growth through specification, not price wars.
Channel & Distributor Management
  • Optimise and professionalise the global distributor network across NA, EMEA and APAC.
  • Define and implement KPIs, partner standards and margin‑based incentive structures.
  • Build loyalty, accountability and performance across the channel.
Team Leadership
  • Mentor and develop a Sales Executive.
  • Oversee Inside Sales Admin and Marketing, ensuring alignment between sales execution and market messaging.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability and commercial discipline.
Key Account Management
  • Personally manage critical global OEM accounts.
  • Lead commercial and technical engagement to ensure early‑stage specification.
  • Act as the senior commercial interface between customers, engineering and leadership.
The Ideal Candidate Experience
  • 10+ years in industrial / engineering CapEx sales.
  • Background in industrial refrigeration, HVAC or thermal management is a significant advantage.
OEM Mindset
  • Deep understanding of OEM sales cycles and how to get specified into standard builds. Comfortable selling long‑term value, not short‑term discounts.
International Savvy
  • Proven experience managing distributors across UK, US, EMEA and APAC.
  • Confident operating in different commercial and cultural environments.
Commercial Acumen
  • Strong negotiator with a track record of margin protection in fluctuating markets.
  • Data‑driven, commercially sharp and strategically minded.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Previous sales management experience.
  • Able to bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and commercial growth.
  • A true team player who leads from the front.
Change Agent
  • Comfortable (and energised by) a business going through professionalisation and scale‑up. You bring structure without killing momentum.
