Job description
Intro

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn, grow, and build real confidence in the world of tech sales. You don't need sales experience - just motivation, energy, and willingness to pick up the phone. We'll teach you everything else.

Why This Role Matters

The SDR team is the first point of contact for many new customers, and the work you do directly shapes IRIS's success. You'll introduce businesses to software that solves real problems, saves time, and reduces stress - and your conversations help them understand how IRIS can support their goals. This role is very much about speaking to people. A large part of your day will be spent making outbound calls, starting conversations, and building confidence with every dial. The more calls you make, the more opportunities you'll create - and the quicker you'll develop your skills. Your effort really does translate into results, and you'll never be doing it alone. Our dedicated Sales Training team works alongside you every single day, offering coaching, feedback, and support to help you improve call by call. Many of our top Account Executives, Sales Managers, and Sales Directors started their career right here as SDRs - proving how far this role can take you.

About the Team You'll Join

You'll be part of our Sales Development department - a friendly, ambitious group who all support each other. You'll work closely with:

  • Account Executives, who rely on the meetings you book
  • Marketing, who provide warm leads and campaigns
  • Sales Trainers, who coach you daily
  • Sales Leadership, who support your development
What You'll Be Doing
  • Make outbound phone calls to start conversations with potential customers
  • Use email and LinkedIn to support your outreach and follow up
  • Listen carefully to uncover challenges and identify where IRIS can help
  • Qualify interest and book meetings for our Account Executives
  • Learn about our products so you can speak confidently about the problems they solve
  • Keep your CRM notes tidy, accurate, and organised
  • Work towards weekly goals focused on conversations, meetings, and pipeline
Growth & Support

Every day you'll develop, grow, and become more confident with a training team supporting you every step of the way. You'll receive full training and daily coaching from our Sales Training specialists, helping you build confidence quickly and improve with every call. There's also a clear progression path: many of our top-performing Account Executives, Sales Managers, and even Sales Directors began their journey as SDRs. With the right mindset and the daily support you'll receive, your development can move quickly, with opportunities to step into roles such as Account Development, Account Executive, Renewals or Customer Success.

You'll have a competitive base salary + commission, strong benefits, and the experience of working in a busy Manchester office where early‑career talent grows together.

Application Process
  1. Apply online: Submit your CV and answer a few short questions so we can get to know you.
  2. Follow‑Up Interview: You'll complete a short interview at this stage. You can choose the format that suits you best
    • AI Interview (Recommended) – A quick, on‑demand video interview (around 15 minutes) that you can complete at any time.
    • Live Interview – If you prefer speaking with someone directly, you can schedule a short Microsoft Teams call with one of our recruiters.
After this, you'll have a friendly check‑in with a Talent Partner. This isn't another interview – it's simply a relaxed chat where you can ask questions, learn more about IRIS, and get a feel for what it's like to build your career here. As part of this stage, you'll also complete a few short online assessments.
  3. Group Assessment (Manchester Office – 18 December 2025): Join us at our Manchester office for an in‑person group session. You'll take part in relaxed team activities with other candidates. No preparation needed – just bring your enthusiasm.

Begin your sales journey at IRIS and build a career where your effort, energy, and ambition genuinely make a difference – every single day.
