Job summary

Plumb Centre in Castle Combe is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our branch on a full-time basis. The role includes local deliveries, counter service, and customer support within a 40-hour week with alternating Saturday mornings. Starting 25 September 2026, the salary is £26,695 plus bonus and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Driving licence is essential.
• Face to face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• Knowledge of Plumbing & Heating is ideal.
• Warehouse experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries in local area with a 3.5T automatic van.
• Serve customers at the trade counter with advice and product recommendations.
• Respond to phone and email enquiries promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identify opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Warehouse duties including stock bookings, put away, and picking/packing heavy stock.

Role Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Additional Information

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00am - 5:00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08:00am - 12:00pm.

Candidate Requirements

• A Driving Licence is essential
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is essential
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
