Job summary

Plumb Centre in Cambridge is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers on the trade counter, understand needs and recommend products. You will respond to inquiries by phone and email and work to regain business from previous customers.

The role includes outbound calls, driving branch sales, and light warehouse duties, with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and Saturday rota. Training and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Must have plumbing & heating knowledge.
• Experience in face-to-face sales and customer service.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation required.
• Must be a team player with a proactive attitude.
• Comfortable lifting heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and recommending products.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Handling general warehouse duties including stock checks, putting away, and packing orders.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system, putting it away, and picking and packing customer orders which involves manual handling of heavy stock such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets

Working Hours

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Candidate Requirements

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face-to-Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• Being a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
