Job summary

Plumb Centre is seeking a Sales Assistant in Newbury, Wiltshire. This full-time role offers a base salary of £26,695 with opportunities for bonuses and a strong benefits package.

You will drive a 3.5T van for local deliveries, assist at the trade counter, answer inquiries by phone and email, and play an active role in growing branch sales. Ideal candidates have face-to-face sales experience, customer service skills, and a driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries to customers in the local area using a 3.5T automatic van.
• Serve customers at the trade counter with product advice.
• Respond to enquiries by phone and email promptly.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Handle warehouse tasks including stock checks, picking and packing.

Role Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system, storing it, and picking and packing customer orders especially handling heavy stock such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets

Employment Details

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:00 am to 5:00 pm, with alternate Saturday mornings from 08:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Candidate Requirements

• A Driving Licence is essential
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
