Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited (Plumb Centre) in Swindon is hiring a Sales Assistant to support trade customers and deliver excellent service on the counter and on the road. The role involves driving a 3.5T van, advising customers, and developing sales opportunities.

The position requires a valid driving licence and prior face-to-face sales experience; plumbing/heating knowledge is helpful. It is a full-time, permanent role with benefits and pension contributions.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area.
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including stock checks, putting away, and picking/packing orders (heavy stock).

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.

Requirements

• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is essential

• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
