Job description
Overview

The Company: Korea Foods Company is the leader in the supply of Korean food in the UK. A family-run business, established in 1999, Korea Foods Company has over 500 employees working within its Head Office, Logistics Centres, and Retail Stores. We import from key brands in Korea, and distribute to the Asian community, focusing on East Asian consumers. We have also seen substantial growth within the supermarket multiples, securing significant listings with Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, and Costco. We also operate our own retail store network, Seoul Plaza, currently with 21 stores within the estate, with more opening in 2026. Growth has been consistently double-digit, with a sales turnover in excess of £85 million. The company is an incredibly dynamic and fast-paced place to work, with ambiguity and transparency that is often associated with family-run businesses. It is, also, whilst not for the faint-hearted, a rewarding workplace where personal achievements are recognised due to the relatively flat management structure.

Contract details: Permanent, Full-time, Subject to 3-month probation. Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri 08:30 - 18:00).

Responsibilities
  • First line support for the Retail Branches and Production Areas; including troubleshooting, head office support.
  • Administer the Retail Departments use of SAP 9.1, SAP 9.3 to include but not limited to:
  • Setting promotional deals in preparation for store sales.
  • Creation of employee user ID and password for POS access.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing department for information to create and edit ‘Item Master Data’, i.e. price, item barcode and description.
  • Work with the IT Department to ensure the Retail’s SAP records are correct and up to date.
  • Produce sales data and reports for the Retail Department and Stores.
  • Monthly Sales quantity reports, produced in arrears for the Inventory Department.
  • Provide the Accounts Department with sales figures for stores.
  • Compile the sales quantity data for promotional items and send to the Retail Manager for next steps.
  • Liaise with different store locations to ensure the fresh food scale machines are accurate and working correctly, including: creation of new items and ensure the correct ingredients and allergens are listed; administer changes including price; ensure the machines are working well and have scheduled maintenance, providing technical support for connections, label miss-feeding and other mechanical errors.
  • Conduct stock takes for various items used by the Retail stores and either purchase them or liaise with the internal purchaser for the products, including but not limited to: trays, containers and wrapping wraps for fresh food section; ingredients and some amenities for the Bakery and Kitchen; card rolls, membership cards, box tapes, labels and other retail shop equipment; council provided products.
  • Administer the Korea Foods membership scheme, including staff discount cards: work on all aspects of the customer loyalty card (including making forms, amending details, checking points for customers); register and provide wholesale membership card for customers in the retail stores; make and distribute the staff discount cards when requested by the HR Department.
  • Using existing templates and systems, update design work for price tags, promotional POPs, posters etc. on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Responsibility for the POS Maintenance on a non-technical basis, to include: setting up pre-set functions for retail shops; maintenance of label printers and the barcodes; ensuring accurate barcodes through testing with price, item description, VAT and other information.
  • In the events items are purchased without barcodes or English language labels, creation of barcodes, item codes and labels to include importer details, ingredients, and nutritional information.
  • Overseeing, in conjunction with Management, the health and safety, pest control and other miscellaneous legislative factors for a retail environment.
  • Customer service at a Head Office level; receiving emails through the Retail inbox and ensuring timely, professional response.
  • Any other reasonable management instruction or request.
  • Control & Maintain the Retail Scale system through Networking to each Shop: work on all aspects of the New Menu & Edit & Amend of product in the Scales; call Scale engineer if the machine is unfunctional work; order and Maintain the scale label (Green & Red colour); focus to check the ingredients in the scales with Technical Team.
  • Go to physical support to Cash& Carry every month (Go to HSBC Bank to Exchange Coins).
